Rare original model 1903 Springfield USMC sniper rifle, serial #1533533, with J. Unertl USMC-Sniper marked scope, serial #2059 with correct Unertl-marked mounts. Original scope carrying tube is included. DAL-marked stockwith circle “P” cartouche. Barrel dated 5/39 showing “star” gauge marking at muzzle. TRECustom: Both my Unertl scopes have the serial #s' below the Unertl logo on the left side of the tube, directly in front of the cross-hair retnetion ring, held on with 3 small screws. My 10x Varmint is # 36627, mfg. All serial numbers ran consecutively. Also have a copy of the original factory owners manual, for the entire line of. My uncle recently gave me this J. Unertl Scope with a serial number 54588. After a bit of research on the internet, turns out these scopes were used during WW2 and Vietnam war, I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of this particular brand. A classic 1965 Unertl 20x per 'Yahoo Unertl Groups' blog info. Target scope with 11/2' objective and 3/4' tube. It is comes with rear screw cap only. The scope is in perfect working order but shows range wear(rubbing) on the objective sunshade and tube top rail where the recoil spring tension is set,(no dents or deep scratches). The original Unertl mounts are in good clean condition and operate correctly The optics operate correctly and field of view being clean and clear, the scope it is fitted with the very fine crosshair reticle. The scopes serial number is: 53770. The length of this scope is about 25 ½ inches. This scope is on a H&R M12 Target Rifle. $850.00 Would consider selling the rifle with the scope and Plano AirGlide case as a package.
