I understand what its effect is, but I do not understand how it works.
I am writing a paper for history class, and understanding this might make writing my paper a little simpler. I just cannot find any information on it other than the fact that it makes it easier for a user to hear where sounds are coming from by mimicking how the ear takes in sound.... or something like that.
